Hidden Dimsum

Overview

When it comes to enjoying a hearty meal in Copenhagen, there’s one place you shouldn’t miss: Hidden Dimsum. Located at Nytorv 19, 1450 København, Denmark, this cozy little gem offers an unforgettable experience for anyone who loves authentic Asian cuisine, especially if you're a fan of dim sum.

The moment you step into the restaurant, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with the sweet scent of freshly prepared dim sum filling the air. Whether you're a local or a tourist, it doesn’t take long to realize that Hidden Dimsum is more than just another restaurant - it’s a dining experience that brings both tradition and innovation to the table.

The menu here is packed with a variety of dim sum dishes, all made from high-quality ingredients. From the classic shrimp dumplings to more adventurous options like pork buns and steamed buns filled with sweet custard, there’s something for every palate. If you’re unsure what to order, the friendly staff is always ready with recommendations. A personal favorite of mine is their BBQ pork bao - tender, flavorful, and wrapped in the softest, fluffiest bun you’ll ever have the pleasure of eating.

What sets Hidden Dimsum apart is its attention to detail. Every dish is crafted with care, and you can taste the passion that goes into each bite. Unlike many other places that simply serve dim sum, this restaurant focuses on preserving the authentic flavors while adding a modern twist. For example, their dim sum is often served with unexpected ingredients, like spicy chili oil or delicate herbs, making each bite a delightful surprise.

One of the most unique aspects of Hidden Dimsum is the way they blend traditional dim sum techniques with contemporary cooking methods. The chefs are constantly innovating, ensuring that every visit feels like a fresh adventure. For those who love variety, the dim sum platters allow you to sample multiple items at once, which is perfect for a group or family outing.

Aside from the amazing food, the atmosphere is another standout feature of this restaurant. With its minimalist décor and intimate setting, it’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch with friends or a cozy dinner with loved ones. The restaurant’s location, tucked away on Nytorv, provides an intimate dining experience while still being conveniently located in central Copenhagen. The cozy ambiance encourages you to relax and enjoy your meal at your own pace.

The drink menu also complements the dim sum perfectly. You’ll find a selection of teas that pair beautifully with the delicate flavors of the food. From the classic jasmine tea to more exotic blends like oolong, there’s a tea for every type of diner. For those looking to enjoy something a bit stronger, the restaurant offers a variety of wines and cocktails, with some carefully chosen to complement the bold flavors of the dim sum.

In terms of customer experience, Hidden Dimsum excels in every way. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions based on your preferences, and always eager to make your experience memorable. They ensure that every dish is served at just the right temperature, and the overall service is attentive without being intrusive.

If you’re in Copenhagen and craving something different, Hidden Dimsum is a must-visit. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the entire experience. The blend of tradition and innovation, the impeccable service, and the cozy atmosphere come together to create a dining experience that’s hard to beat.

Whether you’re a dim sum connoisseur or a first-timer, Hidden Dimsum promises an experience you won’t soon forget. So next time you find yourself near Nytorv, make sure to stop by and treat yourself to some of the best dim sum in Copenhagen.

We have found this restaurant while walking around and wanted to try the food as we love dimsum. We started with spicy tomato soup, followed by a pork-veggie dimsum, crispy fried sesame shrimps dimsum and, crispy duck. We had restaurant's own beer. Everything we tasted were super delicious. Beer's flavor was very good. Service was speedy and servers were very attentive. If you happen to be in central CPH we would definitely recommend this nice restaurant.

Second time we came here, amazing, we didn’t make a reserve and we know that it’s better idea to book a table, it’s important, I was lucky the first time but the second we needed to wait a little bit, the environment it’s amazing, very beautiful place and about the food it’s exquisite, really like the tasting menu and the second time we just mix couple of different things. On of the waiters, Mark, the two times we were here, he was a person with amazing attitude, very kind and cool, thank you for the service. Photos from the first time

Delicious food! Great relaxed environment downstairs in the bar. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Wide selection of dim sum and other dishes, we especially enjoyed the long xiao bao, pak choi with garlic and beef noodle soup. So glad we came here, it was exactly what we needed on a snowy Saturday night. And a great playlist too!

Increadible food and service. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. People were quing up 15 min prior to them opening. The sharing menu covered a wide range af dishes and flavours, and plenty of food.

Found a new favorite! The steamed dumplings were so comforting, and the crispy duck had the perfect crunch. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

A hidden gem in Copenhagen, we saw this place by passing by one day and decided to come here. The dumplings were really good, we ordered the tasting menu, which is the best option, because you get to try different dishes. We also tried the bier from here and its also good. Very recommended place. I would suggest to reserve a table before coming here. The staff was also very nice and friendly, they also offered recommendations on what to eat and were very attentive.
